Very friendly staff, guide you through safety regulation. They have laundry room and the prices is inexpensive for using the washing machine and dryer. The hotel is easy to fine, about 10 minutes walk from train station. They have 2 apple laptop at the lobby that you can use, free wifi .
Stayed at Palace Japan for 10 nights in total. Room wise its pretty decent for solo travellers and comes equipped with tv, fridge & towels & tooth brush are also provided so you wont actually need to bring those. There's toilet in every level, which makes showering & doing your business a lot easier those some others i've seen before. Internet is pretty decent, good speed & nice coverage throughout the whole building. Laundry wise, you'll have to prepare at least 400 yen, 200 for washing & another 200 for dryer. I guess this was the only downside since its a little costly to actually use it on a more often basis. Even if you were to stack lots of clothes up n wash them at one go, it wouldn't dry up properly unless you the dryer twice. Which can add up to make it even more costly. Staff there were all really nice and most of them do speak english so travelers shouldn't have a problem checking in and stuff. No breakfast provided but there's a 7-11 & Supermarket nearby or simply have your meals at the malls beside the station. All in all, its a good stay & will definitely return to this place the next time i travel to Japan.
I had a really pleasant stay at Palace Japan Hotel. Kudos to their friendly staff especially the ones manning the front desk, whose names I didn't catch. I would definitely stay at Palace Japan again when I return to Japan one day.
Pleasant although the small single room is a bit stuffy if the air condition is not turned on. The surrounding area near this hotel is actually not as pleasant. There were lots of Drunken Japanese men loitering there. This is the old and poor side of Japan, I guess. There is a local supermarket across the street. Lots of senior citizens at this area. A variety of food can be found near the JR station. The hotel is pleasant but the location is not.
Good and near MRT, JR. The rate for room reasenable.
Public area like kitchen very dirty (microwave, bar, table)
Our stay was just fine. We arrived around 2:30pm and was able to checkin and get to our room immediately after check in. Room was ok.. a bit small / cramped but is good enough for 2 adults and 1 toddler who will be staying just to sleep. Internet is very fast. Hallways, lounge and toilet/shower areas are clean. Staff speaks english and willing to assist. There are convenient stores around. Just a comment re the cleanliness in the room and in the kitchen... The kitchen has an odd smell that we are not sure if we would like to cook there. There is a microwave oven available for use, but when you open it smells like it has been a while since it was last cleaned. Stains are all over and does not smell good. We only used it to warm rice in closed packages, bought from 711 or Lawsons. The room is generally clean, the table, the cabinet, the sheets (when we arrived), the curtain.. but the small refrigerator has stains inside and a smell... They dont seem to have a daily cleaning service too. Our sheets, pillow covers and towels were the same as what we had when we arrived. No body also collected the trash from the room's trash bins. Hotel also has a curfew. The front door is open only from 7am to 12mn. I am not sure if the front balcony and the door from the balcony to inside the hotel is always open, but we were able to get out thru that way when we left before 7am. For those looking for a place to spend the nights after sightseeing, for fast internet connection, and easy to find hotel, we can recommend this hotel. We may still stay here but would probably remind them of the microwave and the inroom refrigerators. :)
It was a good hotel. No complains
I stayed in a private room on ladies' floor for 5 nights. The room was tiny but clean. Shared bathrooms was nice too. Hotel is located close to Minami, senju station that you can access to tokyo metro, JR line and Tsukuba express. Also, there are local supermarkets and 24,hours convenient stores nearby so that it's still okay even you are a woman walking back to hotel alone at night. Staffs can speak English very well and very helpful.
Good for JR and Tokyo Metro just a few blocks down the road. Small accessible kitchen to use, the rooms are very small and cramped (Typical of Japanese hotels), but the cleaning of the washrooms was of the highest standard. The mature receptionist spoke flawless English and helped me several times, steering me in the right direction with travel issues saving me time and money. Ten out of ten!
Nice choice. They were interested in keeping it clean with daily maintenance. Seemed like walls, furnishings, shared baths were all newer and quality (not saying they were plush, but they were new and cared for). Shared bathroom, some rooms dorm-style, etc. Worked well for my budget, about (6) blocks south of good subway stop. Felt safe all hours walking in this neighborhood morning and evening. Would recommend if looking for budget place.
locatiion: the hotel is located 5-10 minutes away from morinomiya train station. depending on which subway line (theres 2 morinomiya stations) you might have to walk a little bit down the station and then cross a bridge. but once you get your bearings its pretty easy to locate - it is straight down the main road. that being said i had quite an exasperating experience when i first reached without a map with my luggage so please remember to prep the area map! there is a family mart and 7-11 across the street. morinomiya is a pretty quiet area (alot of aged people) away from central tokyo. it is however close to asakusa which is where the skytree and shrine is located. rent a bike from the hotel and just cylce down to the area! facilities: the hotel is very new and the facilities all look very clean. room is clean and relatively big (i can lay out my luggage easily). aircon, tv and fridge in the room. wi-fi provided in room. there are toilets and showers located on every floor and they are all very clean. towels can be exchanged for new ones every night. there is a pantry, laundry and common area on the 1st floor. computers are also located here. mingle around with the rest of the travellers! staff: very friendly staff who can speak english (i believe i heard her speak mandarin too). always ready to recommend you places to visit! conclusion: very nice and clean environment. everything you need is available and friendly people all around! would definitely come back again!
One of the best deals in town. The area is very quiet at night (good for sleeping) and the rooms and shared bathrooms are very clean. Located very close to transportation and a 7-11 across the street. NOTE: I shipped my large suitcase (26kg) from the 7-11 across the street to Kobe (they deliver to any address or you can ask them to hold it at another 7-11). It was so convenient and only cost 1800 yen! The beds at Palace Japan are super hard. You can ask for an extra blanket and fold it in half and sleep on that in addition to the thin futon and it will help. They have kitchen facilities, wifi, Apple computers you can use for free, and vending machines. Staff spoke very good English. Highly recommended for the price in Tokyo!
I wasn't really sure at the beginning whether to choose this hotel because the reviews were mixed. People complained about the location, lack of restaurants and etc. All I could say - absolute nonsense. This was a superb budget hotel. Staff spoke very good English and was super friendly. Facilities within the hotel are ultramodern, including two Apple computers that guests can use free of charge. Rooms are very small but so is the price. The hotel isn't really in the city centre but well connected to the metro system. It only takes 5 min to walk to Minami Senju station. From there, 15 min by metro to Ginza or 5 min to Asakusa. From the balcony in the public area on the 7th floor, you can see the Sky tree - it's beautifully lit at night.
