The staff is terrific, food is good (although vegetarian/pescetarian only--watch out for fake bacon and fake chicken), grounds/landscaping/pool are fantastic. The spa is great, too. Really a remarkable place that almost makes you forget you're in the middle of hectic Sukhumvit. Will definitely return. Really a gem of a hotel. They also let us have a VERY late checkout (night flight back to Seoul) at no charge, which was a huge bonus and allowed us to board the plane fresh and showered. Can't recommend this place highly enough.
Although the approach to hotel down a narrow street gives you the impression of a busy area, the hotel is quiet and the "new rooms" are delightful. No complaints at all.
Having arrived in Bangkok on the night bus at 5am we went to the hotel and they were more than happy to let us check into a spare room for a few hours until our room was ready for some much needed sleep. The service was great, positive but not over powering and both rooms were different with interesting decor and little touches that really enhanced the experience. The pool area simple and elegant with a treatment room nearby if you want some extra pampering. My wife and I both agreed that this was a hotel worth paying a little bit more for against the cheaper standard options in Bangkok. The hotel itself is tucked away at the end of a narrow side street and is an oasis of calm!
Absolutely great. We enjoyed our stay very much! The hotel is an old thai villa and only has 24 rooms. Therefore the hotel is not crowded even if they are full occupied. It's a great place to relax, centrally located, from a busy and noise city like Bangkok is. We will definently come back. Very friendly orner and staff.
The owner, David, was very friendly. We were given an extra room to use for late check-out, including shower and bath at no extra charge. Very friendly and helpful staff. Kind of a hidden little gem.
Our stay was wonderful. The staff was friendly, courteous and met our requests immediately. The room and bathroom were unexpectedly large and gorgeously decorated. The bathroom was architected like a spa - stone floor around the shower and separate tub. There were 2 sinks and the toilet was in a separate area of the bathroom. We had a ground level room (upgraded free of charge from a studio) and we had a private sitting area in the garden. The room was equipped with a small refrigerator with free drinking water and tea, as well as robe and slippers. The pool area is beautiful, but be careful of mosquitoes. The hotel provides bug repellent for a reason.
ariyasomvilla is a lovely and tranquil oasis in the heart of bustling bangkok. we arrived well after midnight and were greeted with fruit juice and taken to our beautifully furnished room which had a great bed. the hotel is converted from a large thai house with lovely art and furniture throughout. the all-vegetarian food was among the best we experienced compared with upper end bangkok restaurants and the staff were all extremely attentive and welcoming. the owner, david, was present at every meal and is a good resource for all things bangkok as well as being an all-around nice guy. that kind of personal attention and the talents of his harvard-educated landscape architect wife, ensured the quality, intimacy, and beauty of surroundings that we were seeking in a vacation respite while we explored bangkok. the pool and spa are an added plus.
I loved this place -- very central, pretty easy to get to and, though right in the middle of town, an oasis of peace. It's next to a khlong so you can hear boats going by, which is lovely. I swam every day and had massages, which were nice but a bit overpriced (and not many choices). The restaurant was excellent because they serve mostly vegetarian food and not only do Thai but other kinds. The staff were kind and helpful. I liked the way they went to a lot of trouble to make the place look and smell relaxing, with lovely plants and lots of incense burners.
Our stay started with a surprise upgrade to an Executive Suite. The room(s)were beautiful traditional Thai style. Small touches like quality toiletries, fresh fruit platter, and complimentary cold drinks were greatly appreciated. Booking, checking in and out all doe with minimal fuss. The breakfast included in the room price was superb.
My favorit hotel so far in BKK, ok, together with Kempinski. I can't judge the dining as I didnt eat. Stayed here for only a few nights with my gf and it was great. It's so quiet, green, beautiful, you feel like being at an outdoors resort instead in the heart of BKK. The staff was very friendly and spoke excellent English. There weren't many other guests as it seemed what didn't bother us at all. A great place to relax and to discover BKK. Close to shopping malls and Nana.
