Female receptionist at check in seemed extremely bored & was not helpful at all. We had to ask about everything. She did not even direct us to the elevators. Arrived at approx 12.15pm. We had booked 2 adjoining rooms but did ask if we could have access to one room as early as possible and that we would really appreciate that. We received a call at 2.10pm to say that our rooms were ready. Upon arriving at check in we were told that only one room was available and that we would be contacted when the other was ready. I called at 2.50pm to be told that it would be ready in about 10-15 minutes. I called again at 3.20 to be told that they were coming with the key. The key arrived at 3.40pm. When it did finally arrive we found the adjoining room to smell of cigarette smoke. When we booked online, we requested a non smoking room. The whole check in experience was memorable for all the wrong reasons. We spent the rest of the afternoon in and around the pool and found the staff and facilities to be very pleasant. That evening, we left the hotel for dinner. Returning to the hotel I found it to be unusually dark but did not make sense of this until we took the lift to our room, where it too was dark. The hotel was on temporary power. One of our party returned to the room after us, after parking the car, and mentioned that a staff member was at the lifts telling people not to take the lifts because of the power issue. My wife was extremely unhappy when she found out about this as we have two young children and an elderly mother who were travelling with us and we could have been trapped in the lifts if they had failed. There had been no one at the lift when we had caught it earlier. Neither did anyone in the lobby inform us that the power was off and that we should not take the elevator. Breakfast was top quality but overall, a 5 star hotel without the 5 stars.

Wonderful pool for kids
Nice and comfortable hotel. Roomprice above what's should be expected. Excellent breakfast. Bathroom was more or less integrated with the living/bedroom which was not good. Should have expected a better bathroom standard on a 5 star hotel.
We had a great time. The only hiccup was that I requested adjoining rooms. AGODA does not offer that choice when scheduling so I contacted an AGOA manager who spoke with hotel and arranged for adjoining rooms for additional fee. On wife's arrival day before myself, they told her to adjoin rooms we would have to change rooms and up charged us an additional 200 dollars. I think the problem lies within AGODAs booking format, because they do not allow the consumer full flexibility in making online arrangements. The hotel was great however, Kids love it and so do we except for the exorbitant pricing for meals and extras. Will probably return regardless, simply for the surroundings which are absolutely incomparable.
I have a great stay in the hotel. The room is spacious and balcony facing the beach. The pools are accommodate with watersides and lazy pool although certain part of the pool is under renovation but it never interrupt the activities. Hotel has lot of activities for older and younger children - My kids love the arcade room very much. The breakfast is excellent and during peak hour you may need to queue up in front of the egg station and also the noodle station. Only drawback is the hotel is situated quite far from the shopping mall, although the hotel provide shuttle van service from the hotel to the central festival shopping mall, the hotel charge 200 baht per person which i think should be FREE
Is a perfect hotel to go to enjoy and relax everything is nice, also suitable for all kind of age, i been travel a lot this hotel worth more than 5 star hotel. After i been this hotel i won't choose other. Excellent hotel.
Our 4 years old niece slipped and fell down in the swimming pool area. The hotel staff took photo of the wound and told us to take her to the hospital. We had no idea where was the hospital. So the hotel car dropped us there and left right away. We had to come back by ourselves. My niece had 15 stitches on her chin. Of course, we paid. Back to the hotel, no one checked on us if she was ok. The only thing they asked for was please return the towel we took from the fitness club ( to dry my niece on the way to the hotel) when we complained to the hotel manager, no action taking. For a big hotel like this it was a big disappointment.
My 3 nights stay at Centara Grand Mirage was awesome and memorable. The moment we went in, the lost world theme already amazed me. The hotel itself already offers a whole day fun and adventure for the family especially children. They have many pools from kids to adult pools. They have lazy river and slides which for me are truly fun. The breakfast buffet is great with lots of choices from continental Asian and even native thai dish. I love the thai tea. I will definitely recommend this hotel to all.
Excellent hotel ! it was enjoyable and Adult and children enjoyed so much of the waterpark, hotel facilities (Gym room, Yoga class, children playground. Nice place to stay.

Its hard for me to compare as i have been to Phuket centara beach resort. Both high end resort but different treatment. I still prefer the Phuket Centara. Maybe there are alot of china tourists over there and made the resort very noisy. Staffs is not so attentive to us. Poor location. I do have alot more to complain but past already past. i'll stop here
