Our stay in the residence is very much like home. the room is equipped with everything you need, washing machine, toaster, microwave, kitchen tools, basically everything! very nice indeed!

This a letter to inform you about the terrible service that I experienced at the conrad residences Bangkok on the night of the 11/8/2013. At around 3.15am there was an electric failure.We were plunged in darkness and my husband called reception to ask about the problem, he was informed that they would send someone to fix it and call us back. While we waited in the darkness and heat nobody called us back and when w tried to call the reception 20 mins later there was no answer. Were they trying to avoid our call? My husband went to the phone outside the elevator and called reception and they answered immediately saying that they would get it fixed in 10-15 minutes. In the meantime my 3 children were awake there was no emergency light provided, no call to ask if we needed anything. Nothing. This is a 5 star hotel this is not what we expected from Conrad. It took over an hour and a half for the electricity to be restored in the mean time when we asked the reception to switch us to another room we were informed that 2 rooms in the hotel we were without electricity and they could not change our room as they had none available, how is it possible that a 5 star hotel gives out 100% of its rooms and not keep any vacant rooms for emergency situation like the one we experienced last night. to top it off the manager has no courtesy and calls our room 1 hour after the elecricity has been restored (approx 5:30 am) we have just fallen back to sleep only to be awaken by his call asking if our lights are back on, is he not aware about the situation in his hotel that he had to wake us up again in the middle of the night to get the status, however no follow up was done the next morning. We have been regular visitors at conrad and other Hilton properties around the world and are very disappointed with this service and attitude and would not recommend Conrad Bangkok to anyone. Also,there was no compensation provided. Very sad.I will have to post this incident on all social pages.

Whilst generally the charm of Thailand as the "Land of Smiles" is fast eroding in all areas of Thai fabric, I could have least expected to have "army like" attitude in staff of a 5* hotel where we as guests pay a premium to ensure we also get a premium service. Whilst the staff took measures to correct my disappointment at the allotted rooms and switched us to a room that was fitting our expectation of a "Residence" style room, I believe this could have easily been addressed at the point of checking in. I believe that some signs of colour/nationality based discrimination is silently emerging in these hotels and in Thailand in General where "WHITE" skin is given top priority and a sense of staff going out of their way to make that "WHITE" skin feel comfortable and welcome. However, if you are dark skinned you seem to be "prematurely judged as a"trouble maker" or someone they are surprised to see in such an establishment however wealthy, kind hearted or honest you may be. Also AGODA booking steps does not give emphasis to customers on how many Adults/Children you are booking for only to be surprised with a confirmation that presumes how many people allowed in the confirmation with this being my second time falling a victim of this abnormally.


Room is fine and Location is BAD.

No free internet. Otherwise is ok. The hotel is quite deep in from the main road. Its a quiet place to stay ideal for couple who like quiet and private. Small shopping complex beside (Burgle King)and a small supermarket inside.
